EU funding project “Development of Special Navigation Modules on the Base of Highly Integrated Chipsets”

To offer customers modern design solutions and appropriate design techniques according to the actual market needs, NTLab continuously invests into R&D activities. That’s why in 2018 NTLAB, UAB has started to implement EU funding project “Development of Special Navigation Modules on the Base of Highly Integrated Chipsets”.

Goal of the project – to conduct scientific research, during which products prototypes (high-precision RTK module and anti-jam module) will be developed, tested on special equipment in relevant environment and the preparation for the serial production of the products will be started.

During the project implementation will be developed 2 new to the world products prototypes – high-precision RTK module (real time kinematic module) and anti-jam module. These special customised chips will have high technical characteristics, which will reduce the number of chips used in navigation modules and improves level of chips integration. Furthermore, a specialized component library (including development of the highly efficient chip, which will have high positioning accuracy and enable to make the navigation modules affordable for the mass market) for the RTK module and anti-jam module will be developed (correction of chip structure, increase of characteristics of existing operating model), the initial and final prototypes of RTK and anti-jam modules (including algorithms and software, hardware) will be developed, tests of the prototypes will be conducted, and the preparation for the serial production of the products will be started.

Goal of the products – to enhance efficiency of navigation devices, increasing the affordability and availability of high precision navigation systems for mass-markets.

Both of these products, which have a unique set of characteristics are new to the world and will contribute to the solving of navigational problems in different spheres of everyday life in different industries, such as construction, mining, environmental & structural monitoring, machine control & automation, autonomous driving systems, precision agriculture, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), robotics and intelligent machines, land surveying, 3D cartography, air photography. The role of these industries is rapidly growing, this leads to the growth of navigation systems and its components in industry.

NTLAB, UAB will implement the project, utilizing given time and resources, maximizing the objectives and results of the application.
